Oakleaf Rangers
“People will think what they want about us. Never take too much notice of it, just continue to follow the ways of a Ranger.- Tom Shadow, 18AC

The Oakleaf Rangers is an intelligence scouting force, collecting information and helping protect Enarion by following the ways of a Ranger. Those who join the Guild are taught highly advanced skills, such as tracking, concealment, unseen movement, stealth, and hit-and-run tactics; these lessons are taught early on, for an apprentice's journey to become a full-time Ranger.

Their Goal

The Oakleaf Rangers spend their time fighting against monsters and bandit organisations, to help council and armies of high advanced Kingdoms to Enari travellers, they also help settle issues and negotiations for the continuation of a prosperous and peaceful land. The ways of a Ranger are the lessons taught during their time as an apprentice, these consist of being one with the land, and using it to hone them to their skills. The Rangers will continue to keep the peace, before and after graduation.

All Rangers wear an Oakleaf necklace, the Oakleaf are all made out of three different materials, bronze, silver and Gold, and are attached to a silver chain. These necklaces are used to represent the formation of the guild.

Gold Senior Oakleaf Rangers:
  • Oakleaf Rangers Leader - Leader of the Guild and the master of the Ranger skill. It is their duty to direct the Oakleaf Rangers, with support of Senior Rangers. They maintain the documents and work to negotiate terms for alliances and help to develop the Oakleaf Rangers; they ensure that the guild is fulfilling the promise of protection for Enarion.
    Incumbent: Tom Shadow
  • District Rangers Leaders - These Rangers are overlookers of areas, ensuring that all Rangers are following the ways of the Ranger. They also ensure that Rangers in that area receive messengers and report information. They also send units on assignments, either collecting information, stopping bandits or monsters. Many of these are reported by Enari and the Adventure Guild bounty board.
Incumbents: Meliodas N. Reykian & Scrap Vexen
  • Ranger Unit Leaders: The Ranger unit Leaders are also known as Head Rangers, they are senior Rangers with well-recognised skills that can help sharpen apprentice Rangers and Trained Rangers. These Rangers are able to act under pressure and are well suitable to teach and strengthen others.
Silver Oakleaf Rangers:
  • Trained Rangers: These trained Rangers are accepted fully into the guild, set on assignments that they can work alone, or along with others. These Rangers are still watched over but have more freedom to continue their purposes of scouting, and information gathering. They are also used as messengers between Rangers, and outsiders of the guild; they also report to the Senior Leaders, who also make sure that silver Rangers are safe and keep the close bond of leader and apprentice.
  • The Oakleaf Bearers: All across Enarion, there are scholars, who study and research Enarion nature, people and ancient ruins to learn more about the impact of the calamity and the world before it, these told by generations of people sharing stories. The Oakleaf Rangers set-up an organisation within the guild to research more about Enarion to help other Rangers gain beneficial factors whilst scouting or fighting with creatures, monsters and even the nature of Enarion.
Bronze Oakleaf Rangers
  • Apprentice Rangers: These are new Rangers that have joined wanting to work in the guild. They are chosen by a Ranger unit Leader to learn the skills of a Ranger. They are then assessed in a group after two-to-three years of intense training. If the apprentice passes, they are given a silver Oakleaf instead of the bronze.

Arming Yourself Properly
Rangers are never in one place for long. They need to pack light, but the essential gear in order to stay adaptive. Oftentimes these warriors pick up odd pieces of gear to fit their tasks as they roam the countryside. Some of these pieces include:

Bow - The most useful tool of a Ranger, keeping their enemies at a distance, beneficial against large enemies.
Arrows - Rangers make sure they have a large quiver collection of arrows, making sure they are all sharp and used wisely.
Daggers - Rangers have a sword and a dagger, the sword used for close combat and the dagger is used for stealth and skinning animals
Axe - Many Rangers have found that an axe is good to chop wood, but they are also very useful whilst in Tor Ascara Forests, where nature has turned against the elves and travellers.
Spears - Large sharp spears are always good to use, these are good against large creatures and give a better distance between the Ranger and their enemies.
Shields - Shields are all coloured with the Oakleaf Rangers symbol, these are used during times when Rangers are outnumbered and must use a shield to protect themselves, Rangers and others that they are working with.
Armour - Armour is always useful during conflicts with larger creatures, these creatures can injure and inflict pain to a Ranger therefore using armour will help protect the Ranger.

The Oakleaf Rangers have many places that they travel around. These consist of the both Ranger Corps located in Avengard and Tor Ascara, these are the capital cities of the Kingdoms of Rheynland and Aellen.
Other important Ranger locations consist of:

  • The Meeting Camp: The Rangers meet in a hidden location, this location is when the rangers report findings and update one another on news and information, this location is kept sacred and unknown to others.
  • The Training Camp: The location and information regarding the Ranger's training camp are closely guarded by Rangers.
  • Avengard: The location of the head districted Ranger Corps location and where many human races Rangers return to for information and to catch up with friends and family, they haven’t seen for a while due to being off in the forests and other Kingdoms, towns and other settlements.
  • Tor Ascara: The location of the elven Ranger corps and where many elven Rangers focus on protecting, or to catch up with friends and family, they haven’t seen for a while due to being off in the forests and other Kingdoms, towns and other settlements. They work with the Elven Medics and the Army of Aellen.

Rules of the Guild

  • Be discreet. Rangers are quiet, calculating. If you are a brash, loud-mouthed warrior, then the guild isn’t for you.
  • A Ranger must always focus on developing their skills, you will need to focus on learning skills that you are being taught or have been taught, and continue to practise and strengthen them, on your own.
  • Never harm an innocent Enari.
  • Never steal from Enari, we are not a bandit organisation.
  • Never challenge, or disobey a Gold Oakleaf Ranger.

To gain the most out of the Guild, being active is the best way to understand more of what we do. We have heavily developed over the 4-to-5 months the server has developed and learned a lot whilst doing it, we may have the same name, but our organisation has changed a lot.

The Oakleaf Rangers wear subdued olive, dark greens, browns, black and variations of grey cloaks, over different leather studded/steel reinforced armour. Some of them will also wear sallet and nasal helms that allow for visibility and flexibility whilst wearing armour. The Senior Rangers and many of the Silver Rangers wear their own style uniforms, that they find is best suitable for their role in the guild, but all have a cloak with a hood to be unrecognised if necessary.
