THE BULWARK OF ORDHEIM
ᛏᚺᛖ ᛒᚢᛚᚹᚨᚱᚴ ᛟᚠ ᛟᚱᛞᚺᛖᛁᛗ

ORIGINS
Upon the dissolution of the Lodges, the Kazadun was placed in the precarious position of lacking a standardized army while bearing the flaming pride and eagerness of a population ready to defend their lands from enemies. With the rise of banditry among its realms and unsanctioned fines placed upon people throughout Ordheim, this forced the Kazadun to develop plans to assemble a grand coalition of warriors with the purpose of maintaining the Dewi Peace. How to go about this was the issue, for there were many steps to take before the King’s vision could come to fruition.

The realm of Ordheim and its surrounding fiefdoms, the City of Bronze, the Hilltown and the Under City were under threat of a growing imperialisation of both human and elven forces. In what old scholars of Enarion would consider most unusual, the people of Ordheim, led by King Thorsten, were industrializing at a larger pace much than the other kingdoms. Whilst the population of his realm was small, his band of warriors and loyal retinue were ever-growing. The King put into play an aggressive foreign policy in order to maintain dwezim stability: signing a treatise with the elven kingdom and even waging a diplomatic war against King Edwyn of Westholm.
With only a brief moment of respite, the King communicated discreetly with a passionate ranger following the disbanding of the lodges and a plan was developed to revolutionise the Ordheim military. With the former-ranger at its head, the plan began execution to bring it up to speed with and surpass the other military forces of Enarion.
The Bulwark of Ordheim would eventually seek to become a force revered by its people and feared by its enemies.

THE BULWARK’S CHARGE
Unlike the now-disbanded lodges which focused on niche duties amidst the Kingdom, the Bulwark’s soldiers are trained thoroughly to be adaptable and versatile for any role the Kingdom needs filled. Their Bulwark’s duties are cycled between each platoon and each squad are given protocols to follow as to ensure that the duties are fulfilled with excellency in accordance to specific standards.

  • Guard Duty amidst the Capital
  • Patrol Ordheim’s Territories
  • Act as a Quick Reactionary Garrison
  • Assist in the training of Bronzlings
  • Community Servitude

These are only a few of the tasks that the Bulwark’s soldiers are burdened with when in duty and are critical to establishing and maintaining prosperity within Ordheim.

STANDARD RANKS & STRUCTURE

GUNDRUN AZ ORDHEIM | GENERAL OF ORDHEIM
In order to be the ruler of Ordheim you must be a warrior yourself: honorable and true to your beliefs. While the monarchy is capable of leading the Bulwark, they have far more important duties to tend to outside the intricacies of war. Therefore the duties of maintaining justice and order in the Ordheim’s realms falls upon another, the ruler’s right hand when dispensing their might, the General.
The General of Ordheim is the iron fist of the king, the handle by which the nation’s axe is swung. They wield the entire might of Ordheim’s forces and are tasked with guiding them to their final destination: fulfilling the duties that allow for Ordheim to be a land of stability and success. They relay tasks to the Wallmasters’ squads and consult with the monarch on methods of how to better the kingdom. In times of war, they work alongside them to bring the full weight of the Bulwark down upon Ordheim’s enemies.

WULMADRUN AZ ORDHEIM | WALLMASTER OF ORDHEIM
Venerable and resolute are the Wallmasters, the warriors who command the Bulwark of Ordheim as masters of its army. Each Wallmaster is expected to have decades of experience in the art of war for they lead the forces of the Bulwark with tenacious vigor and quick strategic assessments.
When their orders are issued to them by the General of Ordheim, they must relay the orders to their detachment and execute them with efficiency in order to ensure the stability of the Bulwark and Ordheim as a whole.
Staying in touch with their capabilities as an Oathbearer Warrior, they are to be incredibly versatile not only from their training in the martial arts but in leadership positions and strategy. Each Wallmaster is required to be an adequate tactician so they may minimize casualty when performing their duties. They have various duties that are cycled throughout their squads and each Wallmaster must fulfill it to the best of their ability and beyond for that is what you expect from the best of Ordheim.

SELDHUND AZ ORDHEIM | SHIELDHAND OF ORDHEIM
When an Oathbearer goes beyond the tenets and expectations of their oath to achieve greatness, they’ll be glorified and promoted within their unit as a Shieldhand. Shieldhands are the seconds to the Wallmaster and act as a lieutenant to the squad. They undergo mentorship with the Bulwark elites and train to further their own tactical prowess and leading capabilities.
Shieldhands have the duty of keeping order amidst the unit. While the Wallmasters are focused on affairs such as squad performance, order relays, and troop training, the Shieldhands are often called upon to manage the specific workings of a squad. They listen to the gripes of the soldiers, keep morale in check, and ensure they are properly geared for their excursions.
Spiritless and disorganized the garrison will be without the noble fulfillments of the Shieldhand.

OADBRURER AZ ORDHEIM | OATHBEARER OF ORDHEIM
Staunch and skillful warriors, the Oathbearers fill the standard ranks of the Bulwark and fulfill the essential enforcing duties of Ordheim as part of a Wallmaster’s brigade of warriors. The Oathbearers are trained to be skilled in various forms of martial combat and group tactics, making them a prominent threat on the battlefield, both individually and united.
But beyond the art of war, the Oathbearers have been taught to practice various protocols and adopt values that would further Kaz-az Ordheim’s welfare and valor. They are meant to be the ideals models for what culture Ordheim intends to show, sworn to it by the oaths they swear.

BIRUNDRI AZ ORDHEIM | BRONZLING OF ORDHEIM
The Bronzlings are the initiates of the Bulwark, typically inexperienced and have yet to prove themselves on the field. Awaiting them in their journey is a rigorous regiment under a Wallmaster where their mettle and prowess must be tested and trained.
In their path for glory and honor, they must work diligently under the Shieldbearer elites to learn the workings and formalities of the army for any hope of becoming an Oathbearer.
Once they complete their training camps, they are often placed amidst a Wallmaster’s detachment in order to learn from live engagements. For without that experience, they cannot become proper Oathbearers.
