The Birth of the Sun and the Triumph of Bacchus, 1761. Oil on canvas.
A brown haired dog speeds into a ruins, quickly following the whistle of it's master as they gather to a thunderscarred altar. With a deep inhale, the cleric breathes the tongue of the celestials, speaking incoherently to the mortals that stood around this very altar aside him. They clasp hands, beginning to hope and believe in their "lord" above, the thunderous skies beginning to whirl. Lightning becomes his nails, the clouds his muscular form, and out of the clouds comes a brilliant flash of light, the clerics surrounding the lightning-bolt stricken altar with a now gleeful expression. "COME, MY STORM LORD! BLESS US WITH THE BRILLIANCE THAT IS YOUR LIGHTNING!" A thunder-scarred individual shouts out in glee, opening their arms.

The "gods" of Enarion are a hardly explored topic. We have the Great One of the north, and Annumura of Tor Ascara, and others that may or may not have already been discovered. All of these entities have one thing in common; They are connected to the spiritual network of the runes, and embody a certain elemental capacity that those same runic symbols carry. Should a mortal choose to, for example, NOT want to worship Annumura, or perhaps not bow down to the might of the Great One, they could look to the other elements in their religions, which is where the idea of "Apotheosis" is born.

It's Tough to be a God
The idea of becoming a "god" is a tall order for most spirits, and they need rest, food, and sustenance of other kinds to grow BIG and STRONG enough - Like the Great One, or Annumura, should you wish to deify a domain of an element, you need to first contact a strong enough spirit! The following categories of elements would happen to be the ones where the spirits rein strongest, and going into "sub-categories" or too much specifics would cause a huge annoyance to the stronger spirits of the other worlds, creating a problem; As such, it's simpler to just worship the "strongest" elemental factors, those being Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water.

Being Worshipped is a Breeze
There are a multitude of steps that separate "spirit" and "god", and those can be far apart or near together! However, one thing remains certain: To be a god, you must have worshippers. Those who pray, those who build altars for you, and those who maybe might kill someone in their obsession over you - They're your token 'Worshipper' of your element, and that element needs to come INTO PLAY with what they would do to worship you -

of Air; The harrowing, sheer power of lightning or storms, along with wind and breezes. To worship these, perhaps gather to a thunder-struck tree, or use a lightning scarred object as a focus of your prayer. With wind, it would be wise to be in places of height, where you can feel the breeze and clouds at their fullest. Another form of worship could be songs, sung into the wind with the subject being the spirit!

of Fire; Burning - Flames, fire, and more. Not as complex as other ones. To worship a deity with command over these factors, you'd simply BURN things. Probably the most straight forward, to be fair .. Worshipping with a candle light or bonfire dance would be the likely way to show appreciation or prayer to these gods.

of Water; The patience of icy cold waves, or the going-with-the-flow of the sheer depth of pure water. To worship a god of the waves, you might have a sea-shell, a pearl, or if you wish to worship ice; Perhaps travel to the cold north and dip yourself in icy waters to pray for an alternative, as well.

of Earth; The flourishing of forests and plant life, or the deep-dug blessings of striking mithril underground - Beneath stone. These are the easiest to worship, as anything of stone, iron, mithril - The like, can be used as a focus for the "stone" factor, and anything that has plant life can be used as a focus for the "plant" factor. Being the subject of meditation amongst plant life could also be a way to show prayer.

of Death, Ethereality, Material, and Life; As these are elements or places of too much power; Attempting to summon another spirit or summon a spirit from such could cause much unnecessary chaos. Simply stick to the Great One for "Death", or Annumura for "Life". Ethereality and Material are too .. wide-scope, to have a single spirit commanding them. Worshipping these is a bit complex and difficult ..

Be it a spoken prayer, a burning of crops, a warring festival, or more; To show their appreciation for their brand new deity, giving that same deity much power within their spiritual realm with the will of MANY mortals; At least FIVE are required to even contact a spirit, so you might want to get multiple people into that blood cult of yours before trying to summon the Great One!

Count Your Blessings, Make Them Sweet
A supernatural summoning would take multiple people, along with several sustained days of meditation, offerings, and the like to the spirit, coercing and creating an opening for them to enter the mortal plane, if only briefly. Stronger spirits are capable of travelling back and forth in places of HEAVY similarity to their spiritual or elemental world, but that's extremely rare; Many spirits are no head honcho like Annumura.

After summoning your spirit of choice and sustainably deifying them, that same spirit has the option to share their abilities with the "Clerics", or worshippers that have given it so much power. Much like an exchange for you spreading the word of their power and greatness, they can give one minor "buffs" or "abilities" akin to the Sorcerer - Though, equally as low-powered. Some simple ideas are a guiding wind taking one to the place of their goal, or the mines no longer tripping you up as you walk about the same caverns you have before. Simple, small blessings, to larger ones, which is what comes in next.

Tread where Mortals have not Trod
The original creator of the religion, known as the "Priest" or "Spark" for the spirit to gain it's power .. have a certain level of abilities that can be gained from being so kind to their spiritual god, whether it be in necromantic trials of blood or flaming coal-walking; This person of power has the option to demand or receive blessings from their spirit, becoming the "Avatar" of their god. This could be compared to magic, allowing the avatar of the spirit to perform feats of power that show proof of the god's spiritual abilities and blessings, or perhaps EMBODYING their god's abilities like the Cosantoirs of Tor Ascara or Wraiths of the Great One.

This can vary from air-blades and a wispy form, to a flaming blood and glowing countenance. These blessings HEAVILY change one's appearance, making it quite obvious as to which god has their back, and they are free to do with those abilities as they wish .. Unless their god finds them unfit to lead, in which they have the choice to REVOKE that same blessing, causing that "avatar" to become a mere cleric. While they may have some abilities as a cleric, they will be severely damaged from loss of power, the loss feeling much like the grief of losing a loved one; Sheer and painful. They'd feel an immense remorse for crossing this deity that had blessed them, and would feel a need to re-appeal to their lord.

Powers of Divinity
Deities are given certain divine capabilities based on their amount of Followers, that being Demigodhood, Lesser Godhood, Intermediate Godhood, and Major Godhood. However, the FIRST rule is that there can only be one god per "Domain", those domains being split between spirits who lay claim to them first. The Great One would be the "God of Death", and Annumura would be the "God of Wildlife" or the like. Should another deity attempt to take claim to these domains, they would have to first kill Annumura or the Great One. Speaking of ..

All gods, are, of course, immortal. The only sustenance they need is prayer, and disease does them no harm. They simply do not age, and cannot be killed. If injured to the point of death, they will simply reform within a matter of days. However, that is not to say gods are unkillable. To, infact, kill a god, one would have to get a god of higher rank to do such, and even should that god perish, their body will be sent to the ethereal plane, able to be revived or re-risen with enough efforts. That isn't to say someone could go to the ethereal plane and completely destroy their body, though ..

Deities are also capable of other, more physical abilities, which ranges from casting all spells that fall under their elemental attribution (All lightning for wind, or all of ground for earth), to shapeshifting. However, this perfect shapeshifting has it's limits based upon what ranking the deity is.

Shapeshifting
For demigods, they can only turn into mortal creatures along with whatever is within their elemental portfolio. Moles or other ground-dwellers for earth, and birds for wind, and that form has to be an average form of the creature. If the God of Wind wanted to turn into a sparrow, it would be a normal colored sparrow of normal size.

Lesser gods are a bit stronger, in which they can turn into whatever they wish, related or unrelated to their elemental attribution or portfolio. They can be whatever they want; But they are still restricted to being an average example of what they are attempting to imitate.

Intermediate gods see a LARGE spike in power, capable of turning into animate OR inanimate forms, so long as they are not larger than the largest form of that creature or thing already currently in existence. It may be natural or unnatural, but they cannot be bigger than that one. These deities can assume the shape of rivers, or wind, or mountains, or forests (in Annumura's case), which is why they have a "spike" of power."

Major gods can, for simplification, turn into all of the above, alongside become the size of entire continents or cities (think of the Great One's primal form for this one.) of grand size.

Planar Travel
For a deity of Demigod status, travelling through the plane of their original attribution is easy, as they can appear or disappear in any point in that plane instantaneously, so long as they are in their plane of original attribution, such as Fire, Water, or Air. They can travel to other planes, but cannot teleport or perform any feats of magic within them, and when in a plane that opposes their element, they start to perish and die. Along with all of the above, they cannot contact the Mortal plane other than through mention of their name, or prayer.

For a deity of Lesser status, they can travel to other planes instead of their own, but are incapable of instant teleportation about that place, and can merely travel through flight or shorter-ranged teleportation. However, akin to Demigods, they are still limited by elemental weakness, and cannot fly or teleport in the plane that opposes them. I.e Water to Fire, or Earth to Wind.

With intermediate status, a deity can travel to ALL other planes, along with teleport across any plane with no restriction. They are still afflicted by elemental weaknesses, but to a much lesser extent.

With major deity status, one could say they're simply a creature that exists everywhere and all the time. At will, they can enter the mortal plane, exit it, and reenter all the time to their wishes. Along with that, they can travel to other planes and have the full bodice of their abilities at will and on command, capable of combatting gods in their very own home planes. Greater deities can also create anything out of nothing based to their element, able to be responsible for the creation of an entire race - although, it is tiring, of course.

Finally

As an ending note, the final ability needing tending to would be the "Avatar" of the god. When gods have business in the material plane, since they cannot travel to it, they employ "Avatars". These avatars are infinitesimal manifestations of the god's power, and hold only a fraction of a fraction of their strength, becoming speakers for their god, and allowing that god to be able to only somewhat afflict the mortal plane.

However, avatars share many of the abilities of a god, such as their divine communication or awareness, along with the innate elemental abilities of a god. A demigod can only create a single avatar at a time, taking a year to create another if that one is destroyed. Lesser gods can create two avatars, taking a month to make another. Intermediate gods can make five avatars, and it takes them 7 days to make another. Finally, MAJOR deities can have TEN avatars, and it takes only a day to make another.

Updated and added Powers of Divinity, Movement and Awareness, along with Divinity Abilities. Somewhat unorganized, but they are indeed there.

Removed some unnecessary factors. Those being Awareness, and Divinity Abilities, as those can be decided by the Lore Team.

Reviewed. Most of the ideas here are not workable with existing lore, though we may incorporate some things.

Nice opinion, just one tiny problem with it though. Inspecting your post, it looks like your opinion is different from mine. Let me tell you something. I am the baseline for opinions, any opinion I hold is objectively correct. And as a result any other opinion are wrong. Guess what? You happen to hold a wrong one. I hope you know that your opinion is now illegal, and I have contacted the FBI, CIA, NSA, the Navy Seals, the Secret Service, and your mom. You'll be sorry you ever shared your opinions, by the time you're reading this, you'll be done for. Nature will punish you, humanity will punish you, supernatural beings will punish you, space will punish you. We decided that, just to make sure we'll nuke your house from orbit, so there's no chance you can run away. Everyone will know you will die. It's a small price to pay to remove your wrong opinion from this world.
