*Emhyr knew that many would mourn the death of the King, just like many would relish in it. The vampire had fought with the man several times and begrudgingly had come to respect the man for who he was, even considering him a comrade at one point in her life. Godfrey was a good king, a good man to his people. She found herself wishing that she had been there, in his final moments, a thought that perturbed her. This was unlike her, yet she smiled in the depths of her keep.*

"I could have stood to follow this man, just once more."

*She prayed for a moment, to some foreign god, that he would rest now with ease and without worry. Godfrey had died a hero and left behind a legacy that would last for many generations.*

"I do hope this Eadwulf fella continues the Fyrmani and Wolfwalker genocides his father began..." comments Otto upon hearing the news of Godfrey's death in his bath
Oleh Orel agrees, deeply affected by the death of his beloved king. The Good King, he had called Godfrey and he was sure that there would never be another like him. He thought to the child of Lady Frieda and Ser Destiny Orel who bore the name of Godfrey and would live on to remind those around him of the grandness of the late king. "The legacy of Godfrey will live on." he pauses "And let that remain a threat to his enemies who would offer a sigh of relief at his passing. My fervor to serve only grows deeper with the King's valiant passing. Wolfwalker, Fyrmani, Undead cretins, and those who would do harm unto the men of the West- Take no joy in the passing of Godfrey for he is now beside every Calendale man. In their heart. Guiding their arms. Steering them in tandem with the Divines."
He takes up his newly forged mace of mithril, hefting it into the air. "Let this weapon, no. All of our weapons carry forth the will of Godfrey into existence. Rechristen them in his name and allow Rema's claim over him to embolden our love for the king."

Mirabelle shook her head, a deep frown coming over her face. She felt a pang of guilt at the thought of the late king's children and wife, though she couldn't truly understand how that felt due to her not having either of those. Mira let out a deep sigh, leaning back on her palms as she sat on a dock in Heiyeong, pondering some things within her mind. Eventually, she stood... it seemed she had made a decision, and would be paying a visit to Calendale soon.

Keno would read the missive with a mind filled by thoughts. Those thoughts - were intense, trying to form together a proper reaction to whatever he was reading. His head would slowly shake his head in denial followed by him exhaling through his nose. Not in apathy, hate or denial of Godfrey but rather the tragedy that has not struck only for Godfrey but also for those serving him - no doubt some legislation passed has alienated a portion of humanity.

Keno was aware of the king's wrong doing in the eyes of many but he was also aware of the acts of this human: Never having fought without a proper cause. Not only that, fighting for his people. Truly a competent leader where ever Keno has seen that noble. Now probably in a better place, that man has given the ultimate sacrifice and that is not something to mock, not for Keno. The dwarf would murmur as his long old human friend has taught him back in Rheynland, when he first entered the religious halls of the human kingdom:
"Guide their soul, Mytra."

Keno would however, mock the the poster's title, "A torch extinguished".

That day, not a torch was extinguished, but a fire hotter than any wildfire on Enarion.
But life continues and so we shall walk forwards with the memory of the fallen guiding us, their fire extinguished so ours may continue to burn with love, passion and life.

"You’re too young to pass already before my age. Supposed to be living well now with your family." Siegfried lifted his helm, in respects of Godfrey's passing. Devastating news to hear, as it was his fourth king he served under.

White robes fluttered silver in the moonlight as a slender figure wound through the cramped alleys of Calendale, their slow, quiet steps avoiding disturbing the gravel walkway as they flit past the various patrols. Once they passed under the third archway, the sounds of the city started to quiet, and their tensed posture gradually relaxed.

Finally, they came to a stop. A soft, perhaps tired sigh escaped them, their amber eyes staring into the yawning hallway of the hall of heroes.

The fire at the end of the hall crackled lowly; perhaps her only witness as the woman pulled back her hood to reveal long, pointed ears and hair the red of a sunset. One remained pointed warily at the doorway lest a guard find her here, but, otherwise her attention remained on the face of the memorial before her as she walked deep into the recess of the building. She only stopped when she was at the end of the hall, where the fire's heat prickled against her side like a bad memory.

As much fear as she had of them, at least one among them had responded to it instead with kindness.

There was a soft 'clink' as a gem was gently laid on the stone floor next to the flowers beneath Godfrey's memorial, the ruby dove glittering with its wings outstretched as if in flight. From her, in this place, it held little value other than that of a private sentimentality. But, she was content with that. Perhaps only he would have realized what it meant.

Thumbing a small, wood-carved dove that hung about her neck on a silver chain, the woman quietly pulled her hood back up and left the way she came from.
